[Act 9:3-4 NASB95] 3 As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; 4 and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
Paul was knocked to the ground.
The story of the conversion of Paul is dramatic indeed. He was on his way to continue the persecution of Christians. He was doing what he thought was right. He was zealous. Yet, he was wrong. God had other plans for him. It was going to require a significant change in his life. It started with knocking him on his butt.
Maybe not as dramatic, but just as necessary.
God has great plans for your life. Often we find ourselves doing what we think is correct, but we are on the wrong path. God knows how to help us go in His direction for our lives. It is not always easy. It will require significant change or transformation in us.
You are a chosen vessel.
God chose Paul to do great things. Some people believe that Paul might be one of the most influential people ever born. Yet, although the plan for you might not be as dramatic and consequential as Paul’s, God has chosen you to do great things. He wants to use you to affect this world for His Kingdom.
Transformation is required to fulfill destiny.
God changed (transformed) Paul for him to fulfill his destiny. We, too, will need to be changed to fulfill our destiny. God will do it. We will participate. We must join with God in the change.
This Sunday, we will unpack the conversion of Apostle Paul to see the blueprint of how God will change us so we can fulfill our destiny. Let’s believe for an incredible move of the Holy Spirit. We love you and look forward to seeing you.
