Are You Ready To Get Fit?
An active prayer life gets you fit to be used by God.
[Mar 1:35-39 NASB95] “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house,] and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. Simon and his companions searched for Him; they found Him, and said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” He said to them, “Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.” And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons.
I love this snap-shot of Jesus’ prayer life and ministry. He made prayer a priority. He gets up early. He leaves. He gets alone. He prays. The Son of God, who has the Spirit without measure, needed to pray. He prioritized prayer. It really begs the question, that if Jesus prioritized His prayer life, how much more should we?
It prepared Him for ministry. In this pericope, Jesus prioritized prayer before He powerfully ministered. There seems to be a connection here and in other parts of Scripture, that indicated that having an active prayer life is connected to having a powerful ministry.
Sunday, we are going to look at how you can get ready for the coming revival. God wants His church to be ready to participate in His power. It will happen when His church learns and practices a healthy prayer life. It will be a blessing to you.
