August the month of ANSWERED PRAYERS
Pain Reliever – God will grant your request
“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez saying, “Because I bore [him] with pain.” Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep [me] from harm that [it] may not pain me!” And God granted him what he requested.” I Chronicles 4:9-10 NASB
We believe God answers prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365.25 days a year. We are setting aside this month to receive instruction and impartation of prayer. It has been said, “The method of prayer can be taught, but the spirit of prayer has to be caught.”
Born In Pain
Jabez was an honorable man with a painful past. His own mother labeled him as one who causes pain. We do not know exactly how that played out in his life. What we do know, is that he beseeched God to keep him away from pain. That tells me that he was aware of the pain that surrounded his life.
God Relieved His Pain
The last sentence is of particular interest. “And God granted him what he requested.” The fact that God answered this prayer should cause us to pay attention to it. Many prayers are offered. Yet, not every prayer is granted (see James 4:3).
God Wants To Relieve Your Pain
We are going to study this prayer. This prayer contains principles that we can implement in our prayer life. Since God is no respecter of person’s; what He did for Jabez, He will do for you.
Do you need to see great answers of prayer? Would you like to learn to pray more effectively? This month we are going to address these questions and more as we release our faith for great answers of prayer.
I look forward to exploring this with you throughout the month
“not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 NASB
The more times you come to church the more you are benefited. We are encouraging you to come to church this summer. Every time you come to church (Sunday & Wednesday) you will receive a ticket.
