Let God make you bold.
[Pro 28:1 NASB] 1 The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
“It is going to blow up!”
We had just driven upon a crash site. A car had rear-ended a semi-truck. The car was on fire. The driver was still in the car! Many people were standing quite far from the fiery vehicle. My friend and I ran toward the car. As we ran to the car, people shouted, “Stop! It is going to blow up!” We were able to rescue the man from the fire.
“Don’t touch him. He might have AIDS!”
We pulled the man from the car. He was alive but severely injured. In the process of the rescue, my friend and I got bloody. As the first responder came up to us, he shouted, “Don’t touch him. He might have AIDS!” This was during the time when AIDS was still relatively new to the conscience of the country. These words were spoken as the man’s blood was literally dripping off my chin.
Boldness is necessary to rescue people.
Are you ready to rescue people from a fiery death? God is calling every Christian to run to the fiery crash of humanity burning as a result of their sin. Are we too scared to it might blow up on us? Are we too scared of their sin?
Do I recommend everyone to literally do what my friend and I did that night? Probably not. While precautions and preparations need to be made in our lives, we need to stop allowing fear to be the thing that deters us. As we bring the Gospel to our communities, we need to make sure we are living for God. We need to be solid in the Word of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, and faithfully committed to the church.
That story happened over 28 years ago. I hope I still run to the fiery crashes. I hope I still rescue people from the results of sin. I hope I still am not afraid to I will catch what they have.
This Sunday, I believe God is going to help us discover the truths that help us develop supernatural boldness. He has shown me that this is a time of unprecedented boldness and courage. He is releasing it to everyone who will receive it.
