Rooted Sermon Series

Rooted Sermon Series

ROOTED: Grow deep; Live strong Sermon Series

[Col 2:5-7 NASB] 5 For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ. 6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Faith Under Attack
According to Vaughn, the words order (good discipline) and steadfastness (stability of your faith) are both military words. “He sees the situation of the Colossians as being like that of an army under attack and affirms that their lines were unbroken, their discipline intact, and their ‘faith in Christ’ unshaken.” Your faith is under attack.

Begun And Continuing
Receiving Jesus Christ as Lord is the greatest decision in your life. Yet, this decision is not a onetime event. It is every day. Just as we have received Jesus Christ we need to continue to walk (live) in Him.

Rooted And Built Up
Newly planted bushes are easily pulled up. Once the bush has rooted, it is very difficult to remove it. As long as it is healthy, it will be able to withstand the even harshest of weather.

God wants us to learn how to endure the attacks against our faith. To do that we need to continue to live for Christ. As we do this, we will “root” in Him and be productive and strong in every environment.

Sunday, we will begin the “ROOTED: Grow deep; live strong” series. Whether a person is a new Christian or a seasoned saint this series will help us stay well-rooted. We are going to learn about what to do as we grow in Him.

We love you. Looking forward to seeing you at Evangel North Church Sunday 9 AM & 11 AM, and Wednesday 7 PM.

Also new service: Saturdays 6PM, at Evangel World Prayer Center (6900 Billtown Road).

***THERE IS AN UPDATED LIST IN THE FOYER OF THE CHURCH***

Are you ready to grow in your relationship with God? Are you ready to gain knowledge of His Word? Are you ready to make meaningful connections with people? Are you ready to pour what God has taught you to someone else?

There are Three (3) types of B-Groups:
1. She-Groups – women only
2. He-Groups – men only
3. We-Groups – married couples only

These meet at various times in various places.

To make this work we need leaders. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. If you are interested in becoming a leader sign up. We will have a meeting to give training, set guidelines and answer questions.

This will help our church to go to another level as we reach our region by the empowerment of the Spirit and the love of God!
